Invite everyone to summarise the speech in no more than 2 sentences – if your meeting is using Zoom, get the group to do this using the chat feature and all press enter at the same time.
1. What can we learn from Peter pointing away from himself and towards the power of Jesus?
2. How does the thought of the gospel being good news, despite what we have done, help you?
3. Looking through the passage draw out all the descriptions of who Jesus is and all the references to the Old Testament story. How does this encourage you today?
4. Verse 19 calls for a response from the hearers of this speech and it calls for a response from us too. Invite the group to share if and how they have responded to this call. Lead the group in a chance to respond to this call again.
5. Next week we will look at the reaction to this speech. Picture yourself among the Jewish hearers – what kind of reactions do you think we can expect to see next week?
6. Are there any answers to prayer recently that you can share with others that point them to the power of Jesus?
