Crucifixion

The tone of Mark 15:16-32 is one of shame, mocking and scorn. The soldiers, passers-by, robbers, and religious hierarchy appear united in their humiliation of Jesus. And Jesus stays silent through it all. "For the joy that was set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame" (Hebrews 12:2). As we continue to follow Jesus on his Journey to the Cross, we examine this passage in Mark through the lens of Hebrews 12:2.
