Staying on Track: when the Bible troubles me
Staying on track is important. If an in-service passenger train comes off the rails, it’s a serious business; and if someone’s faith is derailed, it’s a serious business, because as a church we believe the Bible’s message that eternal destinies are at stake in the decision to follow or not to follow Jesus Christ.
In John 6 we have a salutary illustration of some people whose faith was derailed - who went from discipleship to desertion. Why did they abandon Jesus? And what can we do to avoid the same disaster?
