CBC Week of prayer and fasting - Monday 27th January to Sunday 2nd February
We are calling the church to a week of prayer and fasting to seek the Lord for what He is saying to us as a church family.
What is God saying to us as a church as we enter 2025?
How and where does he want us to grow, and how can we use our resources for his glory?
We are blessed at CBC with a growing, vibrant community. Our meeting space and kids groups are full to bursting – praise God! We have also been blessed with financial stability in this season. As leaders we have a sense that God might have something specific for us to do in terms of mission and ministry for His kingdom together.
Will you join us in prayer, seeking the Lord for his plans for us?
We are asking people to commit to praying at some point during each day from January 27th – Feb 2nd. As well as choosing to set aside some personal times of prayer during the week, you may decide to fast with us too.
Fasting is a biblical practice where we choose to go without a meal or meals in order to spend time in prayer. (Matt 6:16-18, Acts 13:2-3)
We acknowledge that God is more important to us than our most basic of human needs and by fasting we express our dependance on him and our desire to hear from Him .
If you’d like to learn more you can watch Ellen’s recent message on fasting from a recent Sunday morning livestream service, HERE

In addition to these we want to encourage households (including children and youth), friends and small groups to seek God together in prayer as part of this week.
We are trusting for God to speak to us and lead us as we give this week to Him.
If you sense God saying anything, or if you have Scriptures, pictures or prophetic senses to share, please email office@chichesterbaptist.org and we will collate and pray through everything that we receive.
The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective (James 5:16)
