The next RMG event is something different! As a follow-up to the table top rally earlier this year, Andrew Terry and Kevin Tarrant have arranged the real thing - a car rally through the South Downs on TUESDAY 4 JULY in the morning.

This is emphatically NOT a race. Rather it is a relaxed test of navigation and observation over a route of about 40 miles through the countryside of the South Downs. It will take about 1.5 to 2 hours.

We meet at 9.30am in the upper room for a 1/2hr briefing session. Car teams will then be released at timed intervals.

There need to be at least two in each car - a driver and a navigator. Wives/friends are welcome, so you may like to start thinking about your pairing. We are happy for you to pre-arrange a pair, but if you have no immediate match please register your interest by email to Phil Coleman directly or by contacting us and we will find you a match.

Drivers need to ensure they have enough fuel for the event and have a road-worthy car.
Navigators would benefit from clipboard and pencil.

There is a coffee shop half way around where participants can stop and have a coffee if they want. We will finish at the pub, the Fox Goes Free in Charlton, where we hope participants will want to have an after race drink and lunch (at their expense!).

There will be some prizes for the winners.
