Spirit (Small Group Study)

Small Group Study, week commencing 26th October.

Click here for a PDF version of these questions.

1. How was seeing the big story of God’s Spirit in the Bible helpful?

2. What is unique for us living this side of the cross, compared to the likes of the Israelites in the desert (Exodus 13), Bezalel (Exodus 31) and Soloman (1 Kings 6-8) and their experience of the Holy Spirit?

3. Andy encouraged us to be filled with the spirit, to grow in the gifts of the spirit and to invite the spirit to transform us. Was there one of these take away points that particularly spoke to you?

4. 1 Corinthians 12:1-11 and Romans 12:6-8 outline some of the gifts the Holy Spirit gives. Read these together and invite the group to list the gifts and explain what they are. What gifts have you been given, are you using them or could you relate to Andy’s story of them lying dormant? (If leading a group it might be appropriate to ask what gifts people would love to have and/ or grow in? It may also be appropriate to encourage each other in the gifts you see in each other).

5. Read Galatians 5:22-23 and invite the group to pray, Lord please help me to grow in…..(and name one or two of the fruits)

6. Make space and time as a group to pray for the Holy Spirit to come and fill you afresh.
